Performance Evidence
Evidence is required to be collected that demonstrates a candidate’s competency in this unit. Evidence must be relevant to the roles within this sector’s work operations and satisfy all of the requirements of the performance criteria of this unit and include evidence that the candidate:
locates and applies relevant documentation, policies and proceduresimplements the requirements, procedures and techniques for the safe, effective and efficient monitoring of the tailings dam environment including:selecting and using the required tools and equipmentidentifying and following safety and emergency proceduresidentifying, assessing, recording and reporting environmental issuesidentifying and applying lifting techniques (manual, cranes and loads)isolation of plant/equipmentworks effectively with others to undertake and complete the monitoring of the tailings dam environment that meets all of the required outcomes including:using a range of communication techniques to convey information to othersmaintaining written and verbal reporting requirements and proceduresdemonstrates completion of monitoring of the tailings dam environment that safely, effectively and efficiently meets all of the required outcomes on more than one (1) occasion including:visually checking and maintaining written records of flora and faunaidentifying, assessing, addressing and reporting environmental issues, risks and hazardsidentifying, checking and monitoring dam wall characteristics and signs of seepagechecking and adjusting quantity of water in damchecking and recording water table depth and quality
